Just FYI: the NCCP is still keen to have a National GP Referral Guideline on NMSC. As you know, we (PCSA, PCDSI, ICGP) have created a ‘veto’ on this being published until and unless implementation is achieved (designed and funded) for those GPs who wish to link with MDTS and undertake moderate risk disease. That’s a big project. So far we have met with the National Director of Out Patient Services to indicate where this might be going and what monies would be required and with the Educ Governance Cttee of the ICGP who this week approved the setting up of a three way Intercollegiate Group of the ICGP, RCSI, RCPI to develop the implementation processes. The PCSA has also drafted an accreditation procedure to inform this group. We’re keeping at it….Niall Maguire
